Welcome to the August 2021 edition of the eBits n ByteZ newsletter. I hope this find you well.

I've added two new articles this month. The first article is about the Central Processing Unit. The second article is about The Silk Road Black Market. I explain more about each article below.

I've also included reminders about other articles that you may not know about.

Site speed improvements continue to be implemented. I think the overall site speed is good, but will continue to improve where possible.

The Central Processing Unit Article

The Central Processing Unit article was inspired by your CENSUS responses, calling for more technically focused articles.

The focus of this article is the need to improve CPU speed and keep pace with today's computing requirements. However, to understand CPU Speed, we explore the CPU basics, such as what the CPU is, how it works, and the factors that make up processor speed. We also look at why this matters to your computer's performance.

The Silk Road Black Market Article

The Silk Road Black Market article looks at this type of illegal website that emerged in the early 2010s, on the dark web, which was, and still is, a notoriously unregulated part of the Internet.

The Silk Road website generated over $1.2 billion dollars in bitcoin revenue through the sales of illegal drugs. We explore how the Silk Road worked, and the circumstances in which the FBI caught the owners and brought the site down. We also reflect on the Silk Road's legacy and what followed throughout the remainder of the decade.
